6th Grade Art:
This class introduces cadets to various components of visual art. Students are introduced to the elements and principles of art, learn about art criticism, and study a variety of artists throughout history. Students are engaged in meaningful projects which introduce a variety of media, methods, and make connections to other subject areas. Students will draw, paint, work with ceramics, use paper mache, and explore many other methods of art-making.

7th Grade Art:
This class takes knowledge covered in 6th grade and expands upon it. Students learn about new artists and different cultures from around the world. Students are introduced to new media and methods as the year progresses.

8th Grade Art:
This class expands upon knowledge learned in 6th and 7th grade. Students study new artists and different cultural artwork throughout the year. Students are engaged in cross-curricular projects and work with new mediums.

Academy Art:
In the Academy, we currently offer four semesters of visual art. Introduction to 2D art introduces basic art making methods and media to students, while Advanced 2D art builds upon this knowledge. Introduction to 3D art introduces students to various methods of working with form while Advanced 3D art builds upon this knowledge. Students in all visual art classes are engaged in choice-based art projects which allow for cross-curricular connections, personal expression, and artistic growth.
