Anderson Preparatory Academy is proud to announce our new elementary assistant principal, Capt. Michael Stottlemyer.
Capt. Michael Stottlemyer is an Anderson native and has been a part of the APA family for 13 years in various capacities. He attended high school here at APA and is a proud alumnus from the class of 2015. While in college, he served as assistant to the Commandant during the summer months.
For the last four years, he taught upper-level math while being involved in many extracurricular activities including class sponsorships, National Honor Society, and basketball/baseball bookkeeping. He earned his bachelor's degree from IUPUI in 2019 and a master's degree in educational leadership in 2022 from Marian University. Outside of education, Capt. Stottlemyer has a passion for astronomy, and he enjoys attending sporting events, traveling the country, and spending time with friends and family.
-------------------------------------------
To the APA Community, I am excited to serve as the elementary assistant principal next fall. APA has a special place in my heart as I wouldn't be the person I am today without APA. During my time as math teacher, my philosophy was to inspire cadets to be greater than average and that philosophy will stay with me in this new role. I look forward to working with many familiar faces as well as getting to know several new ones. Each of us brings value to our school community, and together, alongside our talented faculty and staff, we will continue making our dreams take flight.
