Capt. Hornocker and 8th grade cadets in the APA Wings program participated in The Indiana Academy's Academic Invitational over Fall Break. The team placed 3rd in the Echo Construct competition and 5th in the English Analogy Smackdown! The cadets had a great time stretching their minds and learning new things. #MakeYourDreamsTakeFlight

Recently, APA Elementary students (In person and on-line cadets) participated in the exploration of STEM and STEM related careers through our community partnership with Ivy Tech. Ivy Tech brought their traveling STEM lab to our elementary playground and each student had the opportunity to take a class with the Ivy Tech instructors throughout the week. Learn more here: https://indy.ja.org/scholarship/ja-jobspark JA JobSpark is a multi-day, hands-on career expo impacting over 10,000 Indianapolis eighth graders. The JA JobSpark initiative includes in-class curriculum and activities prior to and after attending the event. JA JobSpark is meant to “spark” an interest in students and get them excited for their future. Students will learn about skills needed for jobs that will be in demand when they graduate and will learn about the equipment that is used on those jobs daily. Students will have a better understanding of the courses they will need to take in high school, a track for post-secondary and a clear career pathway for what they find they are interested in. #JetPride #AllSystemsCheck #MakeYourDreamsTakeFlight

Smile! K-12 Picture Day is scheduled for Monday, October 6. Cadets will be in CAP or cadet uniform and have their photo taken during their CAP period. Orders can be made at mylifetouch.com or flyers will be sent home the week before.

Virtual cadets can come to either location, 22nd St or 29th St, to have their photo taken. You must check in at the front office.
