Due to the federal government shutdown, cuts to SNAP benefits are quickly approaching. The Madison County Health Department (MCHD) has partnered with the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) to temporarily provide food boxes to families with children under the age of 18.

Congratulations to Cadet Bryson Wilson for earning the Wright Brothers Milestone Award. This milestone marks a major accomplishment in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, recognizing leadership growth, aerospace knowledge, and successful completion of the Cadet Physical Fitness Test. Earning this award also promotes the cadet to the rank of Cadet Staff Sergeant, joining an elite group of young leaders dedicated to excellence and service. Capt. Hornocker and 8th grade cadets in the APA Wings program participated in The Indiana Academy's Academic Invitational over Fall Break. The team placed 3rd in the Echo Construct competition and 5th in the English Analogy Smackdown! The cadets had a great time stretching their minds and learning new things. #MakeYourDreamsTakeFlight

Recently, APA Elementary students (In person and on-line cadets) participated in the exploration of STEM and STEM related careers through our community partnership with Ivy Tech. Ivy Tech brought their traveling STEM lab to our elementary playground and each student had the opportunity to take a class with the Ivy Tech instructors throughout the week.
